About Summer of Innovation

The 2013 Summer of Innovation project challenges middle school students across the United States to share in the excitement of scientific discovery and space exploration through unique, NASA-related science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) opportunities throughout the summer. SoI then continues to support follow-on and extended learning efforts designed to keep students involved in STEM activities during the academic year.

About the Mini-Awards Program

The NASA Summer of Innovation Mini-Awards Program is seeking community-based, middle-school student and/or teacher programs that wish to integrate NASA-related, STEM-themed content into their existing summer or afterschool programs. The SoI Mini-Awards Program enables qualified organizations to apply for and potentially receive up to $2,500 for integration of Summer of Innovation content and activities into existing programs.
